Secretary from the Louis XVI period in precious wood marquetry, finely inlaid, featuring a superb geometric decoration centred around a rose motif on the drop front. The veneer showcases refined work in frieze, with contrasting frames and beautiful symmetry, characteristic of French furniture from the late 18th century. The piece opens at the top with a drawer in inverted ogee, and at the bottom with two doors, allowing for functional storage while maintaining great decorative elegance. The drop front reveals a beautifully designed interior theatre. The top is adorned with a light marble surface, adding nobility and protection. The lock entries and bronze handles are original or faithfully preserved. The patina is warm and even, highlighting the wood's grain. Characteristics: Period: late 18th century. Materials: marquetry wood, bronze, marble. Style: Louis XVI / Transition. Decoration: central rose, geometric frieze. Condition: very good overall condition. Slight signs of age consistent with its period, with no structural defects. The piece is sound and stable.
