An extraordinary antique bridal cabinet, personally one of my favorites currently on offer. Although this cabinet is undated, we can safely assume it was made around 1750, specifically in the northeastern Upper Palatinate/Egerland region. The design is very primitive and simple, as is the painting. The panels are decorated with a light blue motif, and the cabinet itself features the original faux-wood painting. Crafted from exceptionally thick pine planks, the cabinet is of a fairly heavy quality. Naturally, there are minor signs of wear, although the cabinet is still in surprisingly good condition considering its age. A few old repairs are visible on the door, but otherwise, there's little to note. The cabinet still has the original working lock with key, and the interior has remained unchanged in 275 years. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this to the couple at a wedding. These pieces of furniture were later placed in a stateroom on the farm, rarely used for distinguished guests or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. 165cm high, 136cm wide, 53cm deep.
