18th century folk art painted bridal cabinet

Antique bridal wardrobe dating from around 1750-1780, from the Schwäbische Alb, southern Germany. The heavy weathered character and the original paintings give the whole a stunning appearance. Both the design of the wardrobe and the painting are simple and primitive, but authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. In the upper panel, a 'Dreispross' is depicted, a floral decoration with religious meaning, representing the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The wardrobe has been thoroughly checked and professionally restored, with attention to originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina has been maintained. The layout is still original, with one shelf and coat hooks. The wardrobe can be locked with the original working lock. Old, sporadically present woodworm traces have been checked and treated. Bridal wardrobes like this are rarely found. The age, patina, and the way this wardrobe is painted make it an exclusive piece of furniture.
