Louis XVI fireplace garniture in marble and bronze - Signed A LA GERBE D'OR Paris - Late 19th century. Magnificent complete fireplace garniture from the late 19th century (Napoleon III / Third Republic period), in the Louis XVI style. This set of very fine Parisian craftsmanship includes a portico clock and a matching pair of candlesticks. Notable characteristics and details: • Prestigious signature: The enamel dial, delicately hand-painted with floral garlands, bears the signature of the famous Parisian house "A LA GERBE D'OR — RUE DE RIVOLI" (Maison Chapus). • Materials: Architectural structure with white marble (or alabaster) columns and chiseled bronze ornaments. • Superb original pendulum: Rare model finely crafted in the shape of a flower basket suspended by a ribbon knot, typical of the neoclassical repertoire. • Mechanism: Paris movement with its original bell/tone present at the back. Dimensions: • Clock: Height 43 cm|Length 19 cm|Depth 10.5 cm. • Candlesticks (x2): Height 25 cm|Length 8 cm|Depth 8 cm. Overall aesthetic condition is good, with a beautiful old patina on the marble and bronzes. The mechanism is complete with its pendulum. Note: Sold without the winding key (standard square key, easily found for a few euros). The movement has not been tested recently; a revision is recommended for perfect functional operation.
