A low chair by Werner Biermann for Arte Sano in Colombia. The German-born designer emigrated to Colombia in 1930 and founded Arte Sano — meaning "handmade" — through which he produced this chair and other furniture. It is a typical brutalist design from the Mid-Century Modern period, made from wood and saddle leather in a terracotta color, and bears the maker's mark. The piece shows wear consistent with its age and is in good vintage condition. Measurements: H. 73 cm, W. 57 cm, D. 74 cm, seat height 26 cm (height 28.7 inch, width 22.4 inch, depth 29.1 inch). Made in Colombia.
