Elegant Danish armchair from the mid-20th century, model FD 161, designed by Arne Vodder and manufactured by France & Søn / France & Daverkosen in Denmark. This armchair bears the original manufacturer's plaque from France & Søn, serial number 6204728. Its characteristic organic-shaped armrests and the combination of teak and beech correspond to the documented construction of this model. The visible structure is made of teak; beech has been used for the non-visible parts. The elegance of its wooden construction, both sculptural and refined, as well as its low seating position, are typical of mid-20th century Danish design by Vodder. The armchair was reupholstered about eight years ago. It is in good overall condition, despite some signs of wear due to age. Dimensions: Width: 70 cm. Depth: 73 cm. Height: 75 cm. Seat height: 37 cm. This armchair is fully disassemblable for easier transport. However, reassembly is somewhat more complex than for other France Søn chairs. Please take this into account if you wish for parcel delivery. Shipping and transport will be arranged upon request. A magnificent original piece of mid-20th century Danish design, bearing authenticated manufacturer marks and clearly identified as model FD 161.
