Exceptional Rustic Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cupboard 1777

Painted folk art 2-door bridal cupboard, dating from 1777 and originating from Franconia, southern Germany. The cupboard is fully decorated with the original painting and made of pine wood. Characteristically decorated with various stripe motifs and painted panels, the beautiful, soft colour scheme gives the whole a particularly refined and authentic appearance. An exclusive piece, especially because of the subtle painting and the beautiful combination of decorative motifs and colours. The cupboard still has the original lock with matching key and is fitted inside with shelves and coat hooks. Occasional old woodworm traces have been carefully checked and treated. In the past, minimal restorations have been carried out to the base, but otherwise the cupboard is in original, museum condition.
