Small antique Chinese cabinet – China, around 1900

This small antique Chinese wooden cabinet with two doors, a lower drawer, and brass pull ring is a piece of domestic storage from northern China around 1900. It originates from northern China, from the late Qing period, where local wood was crafted using traditional mortise and tenon joinery. Two-door auxiliary cabinets were common storage pieces in Chinese homes during the Qing period. Their tall and narrow format made them suitable for small spaces or room corners. The case is made of solid wood with mortise and tenon joinery. The two doors feature rectangular slot handles. The lower drawer has a brass pull ring. The wood retains traces of its original finish in dark reddish tones. The wood's patina is dark and even, with more pronounced wear on the edges of the doors and drawer.
