Designed by the Italian design duo LucidiPevere (Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere) for Cinna (part of the Ligne Roset group), this piece plays on mimicry and the poetic nature of plants. It embodies what could be called "domesticated naturalism." The tabletop is not a raw slice of wood, but a sophisticated veneer that reconstructs the pattern of the growth rings of an oak tree (dendrochronology). It brings the memory of the forest into the living room without the rusticity of raw material. Its irregular grain mimics the sapwood (hence its name Alburni), creating a break with geometric lines. The tabletop rests on a fine, architecturally designed black lacquered steel base, forming a cross at the bottom (visible in the photo below). This contrast between the visual warmth of the wood and the industrial coldness of the metal is typical of contemporary design that seeks to combine the organic with the technical. Condition: The table presents a beautiful overall appearance. The veneer is intact, and the pattern of the rings is particularly hypnotic on this piece. Reported defects: a tiny missing veneer on one edge of the tabletop (dimensions: 6mm X 3mm). This minor detail remains discreet and does not detract from the overall aesthetic of the piece. (see photo) Technical note: this is a well-mastered technical construction, not a solid trunk, which ensures its lightness and absence of deformation over time.
