Carved wooden trouser cabinet – Twisted columns – Marble top

Sculpted wooden trouser press – Twisted columns – Marble top – 19th century. Very beautiful and original sculpted and moulded wooden trouser press, dating from the 19th century, featuring particularly rich architecture inspired by Renaissance furniture. The front opens with two strongly moulded and sculpted panel doors adorned with stylised plant motifs. They are framed by two elegant twisted columns, adding significant relief and character to the whole piece. The interior reveals a particularly interesting layout composed of several drawers. The upper and lower parts are enhanced with drawers featuring sculpted and pierced decoration, equipped with drop handles in bronze. The uprights are adorned with rosettes and sculpted leaf motifs. The whole rests on ball feet and displays a beautiful warm brown patina. The piece is topped with a substantial red marble top veined with white, adding a striking presence to the overall design. Excellent quality of cabinetmaking and sculpture, with numerous decorative details. Note: the marble has some accidents and chips on certain edges, visible in the photographs. Signs of use and old restorations consistent with the age of the piece. A characterful piece, interesting for its original use or as a decorative storage unit. Period: 19th century.
