Low Oak Carved Buffet with Two Doors – Louis XIV period

Beautiful antique low buffet in oak, featuring a richly molded and sculpted facade, in the spirit of French regional furniture in the Louis XIV style. This piece stands out for its beautiful proportions, its geometric relief decoration, and its warm-toned old patina. The facade opens with two doors and two drawers arranged in the upper part. The doors showcase remarkable molded panels with a central decoration of quatrefoils, set within a framework of geometric moldings with projections, giving a lot of relief and character to the composition. The central post is adorned with a sculpted rosette and vertically molded panels. Its upper part features a charming heart-shaped motif. The drawers are equipped with golden brass pull handles, while the doors retain decorative lock entries and long visible pins. The sides are paneled, and the rounded front posts end in small sculpted feet. The slightly curved lower rail is highlighted by discreet scrolls and a central medallion. The overhanging top, with molded edges, harmoniously completes the ensemble. This buffet is appealing due to the quality of its moldings, its architectural decoration, and its beautiful oak patina. It will naturally find its place in an old home, a country house, or an interior combining antique furniture and contemporary decoration. Characteristics: Period: early 18th century.
