Original Saturn lamp by Robert Sonneman for G. Kovacs 1980

Magnificent and authentic Saturn lamp by Robert Sonneman for George Kovacs. USA 1980. Iconic and seen in many films (The Jackal, American Made, Derapages...) Photos. Structure in textured black metal. The reflector is surrounded by perforated black metal, allowing a slight beam of light to pass through and enabling the heat from the bulb to escape. The whole is encircled by a thick glass ring. (Saturn) Small glass plate under the reflector still present. Beautiful dimensions: Height 45 cm. Diameter 40 cm. This is the large authentic model. Several inspired models exist. The majority are smaller, with a different base and often made of a shiny non-textured black. In exceptional condition. R. Sonneman: Robert Sonneman is an iconic figure in contemporary lighting design, known for his visionary approach and innovations since the late 1960s. In 1967, he founded his first company, quickly propelling SONNEMAN – A Way of Light to become a key reference in the field of lighting. Sonneman's commitment to modern ideals and his desire to merge technology, functionality, and art have led him to work with materials such as chrome, stainless steel, and glass. His creations are characterised by clean lines and innovative approaches, becoming classics of the modern era. Sonneman draws inspiration from modern architecture and applies the functionalist discipline of the Bauhaus.
