Bowl / catchall in black glazed ceramic, attributed to Pierre Rinaudo — French work, circa 1955. Elegant sculptural bowl in black glazed ceramic attributed to Pierre Rinaudo, a key figure in the revival of French ceramics in the 1950s. This piece features a free and organic silhouette typical of the modernist vocabulary of the time, enhanced by a graphic abstract decoration composed of white lines and touches of yellow and orange, in a very Vallauris / art studio spirit. The asymmetrical, almost biomorphic shape gives the object a strong sculptural presence while maintaining great visual delicacy. The contrast between the satin black glaze and the modernist decoration adds a lot of character and a very decorative aesthetic. An ideal piece for a centrepiece, catchall, or simple collectible object, perfect in a modernist, minimalist, or brutalist interior. Very nice patina of time. Some signs of use consistent with the age of the piece, with no visible cracks or restorations. French work attributed to Pierre Rinaudo. Circa 1955.
