Jérôme Massier, heir to a lineage of renowned potters, contributed to the revival and growth of artistic ceramics in the 19th century. His influence has a lasting impact on the style and production of the region. Indeed, in the 19th century, he played a fundamental role in the renewal of Vallauris ceramics, as he introduced innovative techniques, notably polychrome glazes and relief effects that give his creations an unprecedented artistic dimension.
