Primitive Rustic Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet

This primitively painted bridal wardrobe dates from the early 19th century and is characterised by its simple painting with wood motifs. The simple decor, combined with the lived-in appearance, gives the piece an authentic character. The wardrobe still has the beautiful original fittings and the accompanying key. Some old repairs show years of use and add to the lived-in character. Occasional traces of woodworm have been checked and treated. The interior of the wardrobe features a small and large shelf, a small rail and oak coat hooks. For conservation, the wardrobe has been finished with a natural layer of beeswax, preserving the original painting and its authentic appearance. Origin: Franconia, southern Germany.
