Rustic Farmhouse Antique Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet 1863

This painted bridal wardrobe dates from 1863 and comes from Franconia, southern Germany. The wardrobe is a beautiful example of regional folk art, executed in a characteristic blue base colour and decorated with floral motifs and marble imitations. The original painting gives the piece an authentic appearance, fitting the rural tradition of this region. The wardrobe still has the original, working lock with matching key. Inside there is a shelf with coat hooks. Occasional traces of woodworm have been checked and treated. A characterful bridal wardrobe in which the original painting and craftsmanship have been well preserved.
