Two-body sideboard in solid oak – unique piece by a cabinetmaker – 1960s

I am offering for sale a two-part piece of furniture entirely handmade in the 1960s by my paternal grandfather, a carpenter by trade. This is a unique item, made of solid oak, whose design and numerous decorative details reflect true craftsmanship: doors with geometric patterns, worked panels, decorative grooves, sculpted uprights, antique fittings, and locks with their keys. Its very original architecture allows it to fit in as a display cabinet or dining room sideboard, as well as an entrance piece in a characterful home. It could also be particularly interesting for a charming gîte, a guest room, or a high-end rental, where a unique piece of this type immediately adds character to an interior. Details. • Era: 1960s. • Manufacture: handmade by a carpenter. • Material: solid oak. • Unique piece. • 2 doors adorned with worked geometric patterns. • Functional locks, with keys. • Lower part openwork with a wooden balustrade, originally designed for draining dishes. • Upper part equipped with 5 antique hooks, usable particularly in an entrance. • Dismountable assembly, practical for transport. • Weight: approximately 80 kg. • Dimensions: 170 cm wide × 227 cm high. • Depth: 45 cm in the lower part / 30 cm in the upper part. • Very good overall condition. About its history. This piece of furniture was made by my grandfather as part of his work as a carpenter. It is therefore not a mass-produced item, but a family artisanal creation. This is precisely what makes it an interesting piece for someone looking for an antique with a story, craftsmanship, and a real presence, rather than standardised furniture. Price: €890. Furniture to be viewed on site. Possibility to send additional photos of the details, fittings, interior, and assembly.
