Rare Petit Vase Stoneware Ciboure Signed Louis David

Authentic small stoneware vase from the famous Pottery of Ciboure (Basque Country), dating from the 1940s (Rodolphe Fischer period). Magnificent stylised decoration inspired by neo-Greek / Art Deco representing a gazelle (or antelope) under foliage, hand-painted in black and brown on a matte ochre/beige background. Artist: Signed "DAVID" under the base for Louis David, iconic painter-decorator of the manufacture. Mark: Clearly legible circular stamp "R.F. CIBOURE" under the base. Condition: PERFECT CONDITION. No chips, no cracks, nor any restoration. A perfectly preserved display piece.
