Somerso murano lamp foot

At first glance one might think that this very beautiful model of murano is a soliflore. But it is indeed a lamp foot, which makes it even more singular because there is little model compared to the production of vases made with this technique. The somerso process is a technique that consists of superimposing layers of glass by successively passing the object in different crucibles of molten glass thus allowing subtle combinations of colors. This process was used in the 50s by flavio poli and most of the pieces were made by the master glassmaker angelo seguso. This beautiful model of the 60s is also stamped sdv (seguso dalla venezia). There is the layer of colorless glass mixed with two layers of glass of green and plum color. Its sleek and geometric side makes it a superb design object. It can regain its original function by adding lampshade and electrification, or left as is as a simple piece of decoration. It is in very good condition.
