Louis XV style commode with rosewood marquetry. Model with drawers and a beautifully curved front. Beautiful gilding and superb quality. Very fine model with rococo bronzes attributed to the Millet house in Paris. Top made of red Languedoc marble. In perfect condition, with its key. The Millet house was founded in Paris in 1853. A highly talented specialist in reproducing 18th-century furniture, Millet produced very high-quality furniture and art bronzes. He was one of the very few cabinetmakers to obtain permission from the Château de Versailles to create a replica of the famous jewel cabinet of Queen Marie Antoinette. A highly meritorious artist, he received the highest awards, such as the Gold Medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris and the Grand Prix at the 1900 Exposition Universelle. The Millet house lasted until 1918.
