Rare Hans Wegner AP-71 lounge chair from 1968, produced by AP Stolen in Copenhagen. This striking statement piece is beautifully crafted with a solid oak frame and a tensioned seat. It has been reupholstered in black bouclé, adding texture and contrast to the design. The chair, designed by Hans Wegner and released in 1968 by AP Stolen in Copenhagen, Denmark, features an adjustable backrest and headrest with three positions, and a solid oak frame with refined hinge joints. The seat is made of tensioned rope (flag halyard line), also used on yachts, and the chair is foldable. The model is documented in Noritsugu Oda’s book Hans J. Wegner’s 100 Chairs, page 116. The condition is good and sturdy, with normal signs of use and patina consistent with age. The chair has been reupholstered in black Chivasso bouclé fabric.
