Authentic Savoyard storage bench from the 1950s, crafted from larch and solid pine, two woods emblematic of Alpine furniture for their robustness and beautiful, warm patina. Its structure combines a solid, sturdy base with a wide backrest, in keeping with the pure tradition of rural mountain seating. The hinged, tilting seat opens to reveal a deep and very practical storage compartment. This type of furniture, found in chalets, served as both a seat and a storage solution, and could be used as an occasional piece near the kitchen or living room. Larch, preferred for high-traffic areas, boasts a distinctive grain and excellent durability, while solid pine adds a touch of lightness and a warm tone to the piece.
