A true symbol of the great parisian brasseries of the belle epoque, this iconic coat rack has become over time a highly sought-after collector's item. Designed by mickael thonet at the beginning of the nineteenth century in curved and varnished walnut, this model has at its rotating top 8 generous curved hooks surmounting a second crown of 8 other straight hooks. An umbrella holder with four curved hooks is fixed halfway up the shaft which extends to form the four double feet. Curved and fluid, its forms testify to the modernity, simplicity and elegance of the pieces signed thonet and prefigure the art nouveau style. The hollow stamp marked the productions of the years 1860 to 1888. Timeless and functional, this safe investment always seduces and never disappoints. In perfect condition.
