Very beautiful and large framed painting. This oil on canvas signed h. Michel represents a countryside landscape in autumn, in a pretty light. The colors are very beautiful, with a very wide palette of all the shades of autumn, and a nice work in the thickness. This oil probably dates from the 60s. The frame, in solid wood, is a little worked, a part closest to the canvas has been painted white (we did this in those years, to make the painting stand out, I was told). a painter friend). The frame is not quite adjusted to the canvas part. The part with the canvas is held in the frame by two twisted nails, driven halfway into the frame, and which pivot to block or unlock the canvas part. This painting certainly deserves a good cleaning. And varnish to protect it perhaps. The frame has stains, especially on the white painted part. The unpainted part of the frame has various stains and marks. We also notice some small stains on the canvas. With lighting from the back we notice some small gaps, a few tiny holes perhaps and parts with cracks. The oil on canvas measures 50 cm by 100 cm, and with the frame, this painting measures 115 cm by 65 cm. It weighs around 3 or 4 kg.
