Old painting Max Erich Nicolas XXth marine. Max Erich Nicolas was born in Berlin in 1888 and died in Dresden in 1958. He is a German painter and graphic designer. Max Erich Nicolas studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Berlin with Emil Rudolf Weiß and in Hamburg with Willy von Beckerath. After that, he was a master's student of Arthur Kampf in Berlin. In 1919, he received the State Prize for Painting. From 1947 he was a professor and lecturer at the Dresden Academy. In 1949 he participated with Jürgen Seidel in the mural campaign of the 2nd German Art Exhibition with the design of a mural "feinmechanik zeiss-ikon". Nicolas was a member of the association of visual artists of the RDG. Exhibitions: • 1946 Dresden, State Art Academy, "art exhibition of Saxon artists" • 1949 Dresden, art exhibition in RDG.
