Antique silver-plated coffee pot in neoclassical style with Empire inspiration, likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century (circa 1890-1910). Its spout, sculpted in the shape of an eagle's head, is the most remarkable feature of this piece. Finely chased, it displays detailed plumage, a wide-open beak, and very expressive modelling, revealing the quality of its execution. This tripod coffee pot rests on three curved feet ending in lion's paws. Its lid is topped with a finial in the shape of a pine cone, while its body features an elegant baluster silhouette. The decoration combines beaded friezes, a frieze of lanceolate leaves, radiating shells, and floral rosettes, characteristic of the neoclassical style with Empire inspiration. The underside bears a manufacturer's mark consisting of the initials "A & F" inscribed in an oval cartouche, separated by a stylised representation of a bird. The inner edge of the lid features a second mark depicting a stylised bird, while the interior of one foot bears a stamp "Mᵉ AVERSENG". None of these markings have been definitively identified. Very good antique condition. Light signs of use consistent with its age. The coffee pot is perfectly stable, and its hinged lid functions perfectly.
