Vintage cocoon lamp from the 60s and 70s

A very beautiful DLG Castiglioni cocoon lamp, dating from the 1960s-1970s. A rare piece on the second-hand market. Its plastic-like resin lampshade was made using a very specific process. The synthetic fiber and vinyl resin were sprayed onto the metal structure and then solidified, creating a diffused envelope, like a silk cocoon. Superb lighting effect. Two small flaws to note (see photo), which were quite minor once the lamp was installed: One spot where the material has detached from the structure. The metal structure has slightly oxidized, creating a kind of verdigris effect, sometimes visible in close-up, but otherwise quite minor. Total height with cord: 70 cm / Lampshade height: 44 cm. Diameter at widest point: 24 cm.
