Five-drawer chest in Transition style (Louis XV/Louis XVI), made of wood veneer with marquetry and light wood framing. The sides feature a veneer arranged in symmetrical chevrons, typical of French cabinetmaking from the late 18th or early 19th century. The top is made of red marble veined with white and grey. The upper corners are adorned with gilt bronze mounts in neoclassical patterns; the tapered legs end in bronze sabots. The interior of the drawers and the back reveal heavily aged raw wood, with cracks and darkening indicating genuine antiquity, likely between 1800 and 1850. Overall good condition according to the seller, with visible wear consistent with the period. Cleaning is required. Dimensions: H. 114 cm – W. 36 cm – Estimated weight 50 kg.
