Sculptural floor lamp in corrugated cardboard and metal – 1970s
Rare column lamp with a particularly graphic design, likely dating from the 1970s. The body is entirely made up of a stack of cut corrugated cardboard sheets, creating a remarkable play of lines and textures. The column is traversed by a black metal structure, which also forms the four curved legs. The light source is placed inside the column and diffuses light through the cardboard structure. A very decorative piece, halfway between a light fixture and a sculpture, characteristic of the experiments with cardboard in 1970s design. Designer and publisher unidentified. I prefer not to suggest attribution in the absence of marking. Electrical work redone: wiring, plug, and connection replaced. Overall vintage condition is good. The cardboard shows irregularities, small deformations, and visible signs of use in the photographs, which are part of the condition of this old piece. Dimensions: Height: 120 cm. Width: 22.5 cm. Depth: 16.5 cm.
