This charming, small Transition chest of drawers, crafted from solid cherry wood, elegantly embodies the spirit of the Transition style. Dating from the early 20th century, it draws inspiration from the clean lines of the late Louis XV period while foreshadowing the geometric rigor of the Louis XVI style. A true homage to the refinement of French decorative arts, revisited with the mastery of the cabinetmakers of the last century, it captivates with the harmony of its proportions and the warmth of its wood. Cherry, a noble and inviting wood, displays a beautiful golden patina that highlights the fineness of its grain. This wood, both robust and elegant, testifies to the quality of craftsmanship of the period. It opens at the front with three functional drawers, offering practical storage despite its modest dimensions. The handles and keyhole escutcheons are made of finely worked bronze, with stylized floral ornaments typical of the Transition style. The sides are simple, framed by subtle recesses, and the base reflects the transition between the Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. Although dating from the early 20th century, this chest of drawers is in good overall condition, with a few discreet signs of wear. It remains functional and stable, ideal for various spaces and for adding a touch of character to a classic, romantic, or contemporary interior.
