Antique ladderback chair, very high backrest, rush seat.

Beautiful antique high-backed ladder chair (with open and cut rungs), characteristic of French regional rustic/Louis XV style furniture. Turned finials at the top of the uprights, curved armrests, turned legs joined by a sculpted front stretcher with a fluted motif. Seat made of woven rush in a herringbone pattern, in generally good condition. Dimensions: height 120 cm, width 56 cm, depth 50 cm. Solid wood, with a lovely patina showing its age. Some normal signs of wear for a piece of this type (visible in the photos), with no apparent structural fragility. A characterful piece, ideal for adding charm to an interior — reading nook, office, entrance. To be collected on site.
