Napoleon III armchair by Pihoué

Asian-inspired blackened wooden armchair with engraved patterns on the legs and the top of the backrest, two wheels at the back of the seat, caned seat, Pihoué stamp under the seat. France, circa 1870. Good condition, recent caning. Seat height: 43cm. Alexandre Pihoué began his cabinetmaking activity in Paris in 1860, then he created with his son in 1872 a company manufacturing furniture and seats of all styles until 1906. They participated in several national exhibitions and the Universal Exhibition in London in 1862.
