Covered basket or lidded pot made of spiral-woven rush (wild herbs and dyed raffia or palm fibres). African craftsmanship (Rwanda/Burundi or West Africa), circa 1990. Rounded belly shape tapering at the neck, topped with a matching fitted lid featuring small handles made of braided cord. Tight and regular weaving with patterns of alternating horizontal multicoloured bands, blending natural straw tones with shades of purple, grey, and olive green. A beautiful piece of folk art and traditional textile craftsmanship. In very good condition. Firm weaving, preserved colours, and well-fitted original lid. Height: 16 cm. Diameter: 18 cm.
