Elegant lady's secretary in Louis XV Transition style, opening with a top drawer, a drop front revealing an interior theatre with small drawers and three lower drawers. The curved front is richly covered with rosewood arranged in a frieze, highlighted with marquetry inlays. The drop front is adorned with a charming painted panel depicting a gallant scene in the spirit of the 18th century, framed by an important rococo gilt bronze mount. The piece rests on curved legs embellished with bronze mounts and sabots. The furniture is topped with a beautiful veined red marble. The interior reveals a refined layout with four small drawers and a central niche, typical of lady's secretaries intended for correspondence.
