Vivai del Sud. VI-VAYYYY DEL SUD. Despite appearances, this isn't the title of an Italian film à la La Dolce Vita, nor a Sicilian cocktail with condensation dripping down its sides. No: it's the name of a legendary Italian house born in the 1950s, at the peak of its glory in the seventies, behind a body of furniture sitting at the crossroads of Roman classicism, opulent baroque, Hollywood Regency bling and lush plant-life influences. And for good reason: before the house ever signed brass palm trees and woven rattan armchairs, the three Di Pierri brothers — its founders — cut their teeth as landscape designers.
