Pair of antique French bronze andirons dating from the late 19th century, made in the Louis XV style. Originally designed for an open fireplace, these andirons feature rococo scrolls, acanthus leaf ornaments, and asymmetrical decorative shapes characteristic of the period. The wrought iron back supports retain their original function of holding firewood while allowing air to circulate beneath the logs. Today, these pieces also serve as decorative fireplace accessories. The set is made of solid bronze with a naturally aged patina and traces of original gilding visible in places. Both andirons are structurally sound and show normal signs of age and use, including surface wear, slight scratches, and oxidation consistent with their age. Sold as a pair. Dimensions (per piece) Width: 27 cm. Depth: 16 cm. Height: 38 cm.
