Yixing teapots are not only utilitarian objects but also works of art. They are often used to prepare high-quality teas, such as Pu'er or Oolong tea, as zisha clay is said to enhance the taste of the tea over time. The characters on the handle (the vertical part) seem to form a phrase or a short poem. Here is a possible interpretation: "天赐福禄" (Tiān cì fú lù) "The Heavens grant happiness and prosperity." The small square engraved under the teapot is a seal or signature of the artisan. Seals on Yixing teapots are often used to indicate the name of the artisan or workshop. The characters to the right of the seal appear to be handwritten and are more legible. They could be read as: "永保平安" (Yǒng bǎo píng'ān) Which literally means: "May you always be at peace and safe." The Chinese characters on Yixing teapots often express wishes for happiness, prosperity, and peace. Dimensions: length (from the tip of the spout to the handle) 14 cm, width 8 cm, height 6 cm.
