Jacques Adnet – Coffee table "Furniture for the countryside" – circa 1950

Rare rectangular coffee table designed by Jacques Adnet (1900-1984), from the series known as "Furniture for the Countryside", circa the 1950s. Larch structure, slatted top made of wood with three small central compartments, one of which has a leather-covered handle. Side metal bars woven with rush and brown leather details, characteristic of Jacques Adnet's decorative vocabulary. Beautiful original patina and very good overall condition, with some signs of use consistent with its age. Dimensions: H. 40 × W. 122 × D. 52 cm. A piece that is both decorative and functional, representative of Adnet's work with wood, leather, and metal in the 1950s.
