Sculptural vintage metal coat stand with rotating crown

A distinctively designed free-standing coat stand in black lacquered metal, probably made in the mid-twentieth century. It has a long, slender central column on an open three-legged base. At the top is a striking circular structure with numerous curved hooks arranged on different levels. The radial construction recalls an abstract sun, a crown or an industrial sculpture. This type of coat stand was probably originally used in a shop, studio, cloakroom or workspace. Thanks to its many hooks, coats, hats, bags, scarves or garments can be hung neatly. The upper section rotates, making the stand easily accessible from all sides. Its height and graphic lines give it a strong spatial presence without looking heavy; even when almost empty, it works as a sculptural object. Lovely in a spacious hallway, shop, clothing studio, bedroom or understated industrial interior. Good vintage condition, stable and usable. Local wear, scratches, paint loss and light oxidation consistent with age and use. The handmade metal construction is not perfectly symmetrical throughout, which adds to its character.
