Banquette model "Cansado" created by Charlotte Perriand, a true collector's item. Designed for the company "MIFERMA", it furnished the apartments of the company's executives. Its decidedly modern design makes it an essential piece that is easy to place in an interior, as a coffee table or a bench bed with matching cushions (upon request). The structure and legs are made of black lacquered steel, topped with 13 slats of mahogany. Provenance: Housing for executives of the mining town of Cansado, Mauritania, built in the 1960s by the Mauritanian Iron Mines Company "MIFERMA" to accommodate its staff. Part of the furniture was designed by Charlotte Perriand between 1959 and 1967. Seat height: 35 cm. Edition Steph Simon, Circa 1959 - 1967. Bibliography: Jacques Barsac, Charlotte Perriand, The Complete Works, vol. 3, Edition Norma, 2017, p. 119 for similar models.
