What a wonderful ceramic piece! A vase with very beautiful lines, an elegant shape, very successful, and obviously this magnificent gray glaze speckled with black and chocolate that I would recognize from miles away, a characteristic glaze of the workshop of the ceramicist couple Chantal and Thierry Robert, named Atch "the stoneware of Loir." It is a very beautiful artisanal work both for the turning and for the glazing. Originally, it is a bottle or carafe with its 6 adorable digestif glasses, but I preferred to separate the lot because I think the centerpiece deserves better than to be stored in a cupboard; for me, this ceramic should be displayed on a piece of furniture, a shelf. But you can, of course, order the small glasses if you wish. A bit forgotten in the history of ceramics, Chantal and Thierry Robert were very active and innovative as early as the 60s and in Poncé-sur-Loir from 1973 until the 90s. This pitcher has the signature "Atch" hand-engraved underneath, T for Thierry, C for Chantal, the h common to both names, and the A for Atelier. This vase probably dates from the 60s or 70s. It is in very good condition, neither cracked nor chipped, just two tiny nicks on the edge of the opening. It measures 17.5 cm in height and about 15 cm in maximum diameter.
