Small lamp base in glazed stoneware made by Bruno H'Rdy, a ceramist associated with the La Borne movement in Cher. This piece features an elegant spherical shape, slightly flattened, topped with a small cylindrical neck. Its glaze, with deep shades of brown, violet, and black, reveals subtle effects of drips and crystallisations, characteristic of research on glazes and wood firings. The simplicity of its silhouette, combined with the richness of its surface, makes it a decorative piece full of character, representative of French ceramics from the second half of the 20th century. Bruno H'Rdy (died in 1991) was a French ceramist trained by Jean Lerat, a major figure in the revival of La Borne ceramics. With his wife Danielle, also a ceramist, he settled in 1972 in Menetou-Salon, near La Borne. Together, they built their own wood kiln and developed a handmade production of unique pieces, favouring simple forms and the natural effects of high-temperature glazes. A beautiful collector's piece, showcasing the craftsmanship of La Borne ceramists and their commitment to traditional firings. Dimensions: Height: 12.5 cm. Diameter: 11 cm. Perfect condition - signed. Origin: La Borne / Menetou-Salon, Cher, France.
