Napoleon III oval mirror - 55x45cm

Here is an exceptional mirror, oval, napoleon III style (circa 1860-1870), in a rectangular moulded frame of blackened wood and stucco with gilded decorations. The ledge is very elegant. The installation of this beautiful frame is designed the old-time with wood panels, ties and collage. The mirror may not be original, but it shows a few slight stitches that give it so much charm. The harmonious alliance of the oval and the rectangle, as well as the combination of gilding and black, are authentic marks of this type of mirrors that become rarer, especially in this beautiful state. There are still such mirrors, but often that require renovation (so expensive). That is not the case here. This framework has already been restored. The gold motifs have the advantage of being timeless and not subject to the fluctuations of fashion. This is a plus that allows this magnificent mirror to blend into many interiors that it will raise by its presence.
