Set of 2 Villeroy & Boch Mettlach 1562 plates – vintage floral design

A lovely set of two antique Villeroy & Boch earthenware dishes, manufactured in Mettlach, model 1562. Very beautiful polychrome floral decoration on an ivory background, with a scalloped edge highlighted by a green line. Two large serving sizes, as decorative as they are useful for completing an antique service. The set includes: - a large round deep dish: diameter 32 cm, height 4 cm - a flat round dish: diameter 28.5 cm, height 2.5 cm The flat dish is in generally good condition, with some light signs of use. The large deep dish shows more signs of age: visible scratches and marks of use, particularly in the base and around the edge, as well as a few small stains on the back. Nevertheless, the set retains a lot of charm and very beautiful decorations. Both pieces bear the Villeroy & Boch Mettlach – 1562 stamp on the back. Total weight: approximately 1.750 kg.
