Plate on a pedestal in strawberry slip

Charming barbotine-style glazed earthenware pedestal plate, decorated with generous strawberries in bright pink relief and soft green foliage on an ivory background. A fine example of the decorative tableware in vogue between 1880 and 1900, in the spirit of the productions of Sarreguemines, Lunéville or Choisy-le-Roi. The barbotine work allows for a striking volume effect, each motif being hand-colored underglaze, which makes each plate unique. Diameter 20.5 cm, height 10 cm. Good vintage condition, patina of use consistent with age. Ideal for presenting macaroons at tea time or fruit on a beautiful country table in a chic flea market style!
