Oil portrait, created in 1916 and signed at the bottom right by Joseph Auguste Brunetton. Some losses but still a very beautiful piece. Brunetton Joseph-Auguste (1863-1923) Born in Lyon on 11 February 1863, Joseph-Auguste Brunetton joined the School of Fine Arts, where he received instruction from Michel Dumas (1812-1885). He then moved to Paris, where he became a student of Gustave Boulanger (1824-1888) at the School of Fine Arts and also a student at the Julian Academy. In the 1880s, he exhibited portraits at the Society of Friends of the Arts in Lyon and subsequently presented works at the Lyonnaise Society of Fine Arts. A portraitist, painter of interiors and still lifes, his work also includes numerous landscapes with subtle variations of light. He passed away in Paris in 1923.
