Authentic piece of South American folk art, sculptural and rich in history. This black ceramic statuette called "Gallinita de la suerte" (little hen of luck) comes from the famous pottery town of Itá, Paraguay. It is an iconic model created in the 1950s by the great pioneering ceramist Marciana Rojas. The base bears the incised signature of the family workshop "MARCIANA" as well as its original serial number. Handcrafted using ancestral techniques, it stands out for its remarkable engraving work on the black clay, where each feather is highlighted with white pigments and topped with a bright red crest painted by hand. According to Paraguayan tradition, this little black hen, also called Picha'i, is a talisman that protects the home and brings fortune in work. Artist: Marciana Rojas Workshop.
