Antique low buffet made of pine, traditional Chinese furniture with a patinated finish originating from Shanxi, dated around 1920. It comes from Shanxi in northern China, from the early 20th century, where the local pine was crafted using mortise and tenon joinery without nails, featuring a front articulated with drawers and central doors. In northern Chinese homes, long low buffets served a storage function and, due to their horizontal scale, visually anchored the main room. The light paint layer originally applied has worn over time, leaving a softened rosy tone on the pine. Constructed from solid pine using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, without nails. The front features four side drawers—two on each side—and two parallel central doors, all with circular iron latch handles. The sides are carved in low relief with vegetal scrolls, and the lower apron is cut in a lobed arch. Details. Dimensions: Length 184 cm – Depth 40 cm – Height 52 cm.
