Ideal in the living room as an aperitif cupboard or in the kitchen to store your various bottles. — A bit of history! It was in 1909 that the american chemist leo baekland synthesized the first thermosetting plastic, bakelite. Plastic was first used for the realization of small objects. American engineer and inventor earl c. Tupper (1907–1983) developed the first poliethylene containers with hermetic lids in 1946. Yes! The famous... Tupperware ! In the 50s, the chemistry of plastics made such progress that it became possible to manufacture larger parts, such as seats. The first chair without any assembly was developed by danish designer verner panton. Plastic has become ubiquitous in our environment. Since 1985 its production has exceeded that of metals in volume. Its recycling is now a crucial issue.
