Vintage Japanese "Mamezara" Bowls, Crown Signature

This set of six Mamezara (literally "bean plates", a term referring to a small size here of 8 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height). Made from speckled stoneware, they feature a hand-painted Ume (plum) design, a Japanese symbol of perseverance and renewal. Each piece bears the "crown" signature on the reverse, emblematic of quality Japanese productions intended for export (1960-1980 period). These artisanal pieces are ideally designed for serving soy sauce (sushi), presenting condiments, or as tea bag rests. In very good condition.
